It began with a daily ritual. Acquire hot water, steep some tea, and retreat to my reading spot with a non-fiction book. Through these reflective sessions of unlearning, pondering, and relearning, the perfect name evolved for that's precisely what was taking place:
Insights Over Tea - Inspiring Thought Perspective.
Greetings! I'm Ashton, an old-soul exploring this world as a deep thinker and lifelong learner. What makes my soul light up from within is having the opportunity to share knowledge and perspective with others. I love being able to help others understand things by meeting them where they are to make learning seem less intimidating.
I have learned that the more you learn, the more you build your confidence. We're intimidated by the things we don't understand, and if we don't take the time to get to learn something - or understand someone - we end up avoiding these intimidating things - or people - for all the wrong reasons because we keep ourselves stuck in fear. If we don't challenge our assumptions so that we may understand truth by getting to know something or someone directly, we continue to live in fear as we deny ourselves the opportunity to enhance our perspective and enhance our life.
Knowledge always provides the opportunity to shape perspective. When we understand how things interconnect, it's easier to see the bigger picture which helps us discern truth from illusion. If we zoom into something too far - if we scrutinize every individual detail with 'what if' - it becomes blurry and hard to distinguish the whole for what it actually is. And if we make assumptions based on our rendering of what that something might be, we argue over speculation instead of truth.
And the truth is, you never know until you try something. And I mean really try without giving in and giving up, for that's the beauty of curiosity (to find the 'why') and creativity (to establish the 'how').
Experience has also allowed me to understand that life really isn't complex. Somewhere in the past - generations ago - it became common place to keep doing more because more meant progress and prosperity. While progress and prosperity is good to an extent, I've realized that we've not adjusted our mentality accordingly. Acquiring more also means more mental clutter, and if we don't give our brain the space it needs to rest, we operate out of stress instead of from a place of love.
We're always wanting to clear things off our schedule so that we can enjoy life doing the things we love. Though when an efficiency comes around to provide us that opportunity, we use it instead as an invitation to do even more. As a result, we've created more meaningless tasks at work just to fill our work days. At the end of the day, we wonder why we're exhausted, stressed, unhappy, and burned out.
Where's the passion and fulfillment? What is life is we're not doing the things that makes our soul come alive on a daily basis?
When you get paid to do the things you love, there's no room for all the negativity as your focus is on becoming more so that you can give more and contribute more. What we currently have is a surplus of individuals starving for meaningful connection, purpose, and belonging, and it shows through our rising mental and emotional health crisis, which goes on to directly impact our financial and physical health.
What the world needs is more inspiration, more guidance. The knowledge is there; we just need to learn how to utilize all the ingredients of life - at the proper time and in the proper order - so that we may create our own soul-fulfilling life masterpiece successfully.
These are the things that both reading and life experiences have taught me to understand. What started as a vision to share wisdom and perspective since evolved into my humanitarian work - to take complexity out of life and make it understandable, as well as to help people reallocate their precious time towards things that are important to them. And there's no better group to positively influence than teens and young adults who are starting their journey through adulthood.
It takes a lifetime to begin to master spiritual wisdom that makes your soul come alive with true joy and peace. I want to help set you up for success early on in life so that you get to experience your best life doing work that is meaningful and significant to you without all the drama and stress. I want to see you glow with confidence when you achieve your own revelation and breakthroughs that encourage and empower you to grow forward, because life is short - find what you love and enjoy it early for a lifetime.
My Passion Project is inspiring young adults to experience their best life by teaching them the skills that will make them a successful, empowered, mature, and passionate adult. Ultimately, I want you to discover your own Passion Project and make it yours. And then be bold, courageous, confident, and empowered to share it with the world and the next generation. Because what the world needs - especially now - is the majority of people doing what makes their soul come alive with meaning, happiness, and love.
May you achieve unlimited successes on your journey toward self-actualization!
Ashton
